The WWF commissioned Ribble Consultants and Infonomics Ltd to produce a business plan to allow the EUREAPA tool and underlying model to develop into a not-for-profit open-source self-sustaining product. The OPEN: EU programme involved several layers, namely: the Global Trade, Assistance, and Production project 7 dataset (GTAP7), the Multi-Regional Input-Output (MRIO) model, and the European Resource and Energy Analysis Programme Application (EUREAPA tool).
We were asked to provide:
- An analysis of the various options and, from this, a recommendation for the most appropriate strategy
- A business plan showing how the project will become self-sustaining and how it will survive and develop under various different scenarios
- A short term action plan to establish any new organisation and initiate the business plan.
